mothers day
Yesetrday was such a great day for our home. First of all I got home at 5am from being 'out' and had 2 hours sleep before getting up and heading off to Church ... for 4 hours of singing and sermon - and its was actually really fun but I was exhausted after a night celebrating my old mate, TheChef's 29th birthday - love you Olly-O (even if you can be a bastard sometimes).
So after a sermon on Hannah the mother of Samuel and all the mothers got cake, I went and picked up MyMama and a surprise cake and we went home and then ALL my aunties came and all the little cousins came and there was table-tennis on the grass and babies under foot. Such a happy day. Some guitar at the back, some NRL footy with the boys watching the box on the verandah, everyone else inside, exchanging Mothers Day gifts ... big show really for my indomitable grandmother, the totally fearless E-Mama who has been down for the last week from Enga and she is totally tough and adorable and the one woman to whom an ENTIRE province defers .... yeah - she commands great respect as the Matriarch of a pretty remarkable family ... and she loves me to bits (naturally)!
So the day ended with sausage sangas and veryvery rich chocolate mud cake and lots of bloated tummies.
Such an incredibly loving and lovely day - and nice to know we made an extra-special effort this year with E-Mama and in fact, all the mamas (from this family) together on Mothers Day - a pretty amazing coincidence and a very happy one.
